and variety of rooms possible, ranging from very comfortable
private suites, 4 or 6 bedroom units with shared lounge
and bathrooms, to cost-effective single dormitory-style
rooms. Book early for your preferred accommodation. There

UNIVERSITY OF BRITISH COLUMBIA
The University of British Columbia campus is the perfect
setting for a large, prestigious meeting like the ASV
Annual Meeting. The natural beauty of the campus,
coupled with the spectacular views of the Pacific over
Burrard Inlet, the north shore mountains and the downtown
core of Vancouver inspire thousands of visitors each
summer. The virology community at UBC includes
both molecular and medical virologists on campus and
a strong contingent of insect and plant virologists
at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada.
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA
Vancouver offers an unbeatable combination of scenic
beauty, stimulating outdoor recreation and a cosmopolitan,
multicultural city centre. As the proud hosts
of the 2010 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games, Vancouver
welcomes visitors to partake in its dynamic and spectacular
environment and world class restaurants. Vancouver
is an ideal springboard for pre or post conference trips
to Victoria on Vancouver Island, BC coastal areas and
the Gulf Islands as well as the year-round premier resort
destination of Whistler.
TRANSPORTATION
Vancouver is served by the Vancouver International Airport
(YVR), the second busiest airport in Canada, with daily
non-stop flights to the United States and other airports
within Canada. The airport is located approximately
